Alright boys and girls, we said we'd give you another info dump, and here it is. Also, we're well aware that most of you hate reading, or at least know someone who does. Do us a favour? Tell your friends about this stuff. Like, physically tell them. And share it to their walls. The more people that know prior to game day, the less time we waste explaining it on game day. Which, by the way, means more pew-pew.
TL;DR
Be there before 10:00 am to select your team. Late-comers will be assigned a colour.
Game starts at 11:00 am, whether you are ready or not. You may join the game at any time.
Bring CASH to speed your entry.
Bring an EMPTY magazine when you chrono.
We all know that the biggest complaint about airsoft games recently has been that they are always late in getting going. Things drag on, the game starts late, ends early, etc, etc, etc. I'm guilty of it, you're guilty of it, we're all guilty of it. Lolly-gaggers, the lot of us. Gabbing about our sweet digs, and shiny new shinies. For Operation: Rising Water, the game start is 11 AM. We are going to do our damnedest to get it on by 11 AM, and we need your help for that. So we're going to go over some logistics.
With game start set for 11:00, we need everyone ready before then. If you are not ready to go, on the field, at your starting location by 11:00, you're gonna miss the game start. You'll, of course, be able to join in at any point by heading on out to your 'base' and tagging into the game. But it'll start, with or without you. That means that if everyone on Red is ready to go and waiting for the horn, but only 5 Blue have bothered to get out there on time, Blue is going to have a rough morning. So when you get there, kick your buddies and make sure they got their gear on, dialed in, and are waiting on us, cause we aren't going to wait on you.
Along the same lines, we at OmegaOps love squads, teams, and groups of friends kicking ass. Airsoft is a team game, and is so much more fun when played with your friends. We try our best to keep squads and friends together. But trying to balance teams in numbers, and skill, to make the game-play fun and challenging for both sides is difficult at the best of times. To try and help us out, we're going to have a 'registration' desk that will allow you to check in and sign up for either Red or Blue. Once you pay, come over to the desk and see us. We'll get you onto a team, quick as we can. If you have friends, they need to check in with us, too.
Here's the thing; we're only giving you the option to CHOOSE your team until 10:00. After that point, we'll be deciding where you go so we can make sure the teams are fair. Unfair teams leads to an unfair game, leads to a crappy game that no one enjoys. We aren't interested in crappy, un-fun games, and you shouldn't be, either. So if you want to ensure you play with your friends on the colour you want, pay and register BEFORE 10:00!
Keep in mind, the entry is a cool $25. To make things faster for you and everyone, bring cash. It's quick, it's clean, it gets you out of those long lines fast. And everybody likes cash. It smells so good.
To make things quicker at the Chrono line, we will supply the .20 gram BBs. Make sure you bring an EMPTY magazine to the chrono line. We will put some .2s in there, you can fire off a few rounds, and we'll tag your gun with the appropriate band to show your velocity. We'll make it fairly unobtrusive, but that band needs to stay there for the day. If you lose your band, see a ref. It's how we, and the other players, know you're playing safe.
That's all for now. We'll have more after the weekend, and perhaps once more end of next week. We're looking forward to this, and hope to give you all something great to start off the year's Big Games. Take care, stay safe, and see you in the field.
